DIY V-neck Tiered Dress

Hello, I made three dresses to wear on my trip to Bangkok during the Easter holiday and this dress is the first one I made. I will share another two in the next posts.  I started working on this dress two weeks before the trip and I'm glad I managed to finish it on time, as well as my other dresses.  This dress was fun and relaxing to sew because I made one before in a midi length, so this time I shortened the length until my knee and sewed it easily. For the fabric, I used a printed rayon from my stash and white cotton lining leftover from my previous make. For the pattern, I used my self-drafted pattern. At first, I didn't want to add the lining but I had to because the fabric was a bit transparent, the lining fabric wasn't enough and I connected the pieces to make the back skirt.   Burdastyle 08/2012 (Portuguese) I have to say that I am really happy and excited with this magazine. So many great patterns in this issue that I wish one day I could make it all:) And the pattern below is the first pattern that I will make for my next project.

How to insert the bag strap on the body bag. I only inserted the bag strap on the outer bag. With the wrong side of the bag strap facing you, pin each of  them on the side of the bag flap. Stitch it with 1/2'' seam allowance. Here is the picture,

Hi! I felt great after long holidays on the place that far away from my home. And finally I recovered from jet lag :-) And of course the first thing I'd love to do is sewing and blogging. As promised on my last post, here is the tutorial "how to make a tote bag". Materials: home decor fabric - for outer bag, inner flap and bag straps  striped cotton fabric - for inner bag and pocket red colour cotton fabric - for outer flap fusible interfacing (the heavy one is better), big wooden button and same colour thread.
